Honda RC212V riders made hay in the sunshine of Jerez, Southern Spain, on day two of the final MotoGP test session of 2006. Dani Pedrosa, Repsol Honda, was the fastest of the Honda men testing and one of only two riders to crack the 1m 42s barrier for the 4.423km circuit.

Yesterday’s weather forecast proved to be right and conditions were much improved on the second day of testing at Jerez. After waiting for the track to become completely dry, Ducati Marlboro Team riders Loris Capirossi and Casey Stoner went out after noon to get testing with their Desmosedici GP7 machines underway.

Valentino Rossi and Colin Edwards completed another promising day of development work on Yamaha’s new 800cc motorcycle in Jerez today, despite being forced to sit out the morning session whilst they waited for the track to dry following yesterday’s rain.

Under ideal weather conditions at the Jerez circuit in Spain, ALEX BARROS had a positive debut on his brand new DUCATI GP7 800cc, equipped with BRIDGESTONE tires.

The morning humidity forced the riders present at Jerez to wait until one to start the test but the weather conditions remained good for the rest of the afternoon.

The 2007 MotoGP season marks a new era for Kawasaki. Not only will the Japanese manufacturer debut their all-new 800cc Ninja ZX-RR at the opening race of the season in Qatar, but also, for the first time since Kawasaki returned to the premier class of motorcycle racing, it will be with a complete ‘in house’ factory team.

Marco Melandri got his first chance to ride the new Honda RC212V today at Jerez de la Frontera, in Spain but the test session was interrupted by the rain that started to fall around 1.00 p.m.

Unseasonably cool weather and occasional showers disrupted proceedings on the opening day of the three-day MotoGP test at Jerez. Despite the delays and a slow to dry track surface the three Honda RC212V riders in attendance at the test Dani Pedrosa, Marco Melandri and Shinya Nakano made the best of the bleak conditions to gather valuable technical data.

The low temperatures of this morning obliged the new KONICA MINOLTA Honda Team rider, Shinya Nakano, to take the first contacts with the new Honda RC212V equipped with Michelin tires only around midday.

The last MotoGP test of the season got underway at the Andalucian circuit of Jerez today, with unexpectedly cold temperatures delaying the start of activity until late morning for the Yamaha duo of Valentino Rossi and Colin Edwards.

The 2006 season has hardly had time to end up, as we are already entering the new 2007 one with a huge winter tests program. The 2007 bikes had just been unwrapped and prepared by the Kawasaki Gil Motor Sport technical staff, and were riding for the first time these Tuesday, the 14th, and Wednesday, the 15th, on the Valencia circuit in Spain.

Rizla Suzuki MotoGP racers John Hopkins and Chris Vermeulen finished the Sepang test at the top of the timesheets for the second day in succession, as the new Suzuki GSV-R800 continued its impressive introduction into MotoGP.

Colin Edwards completed his first test of the 800cc era with another good morning’s work at Sepang today, making more progress on the development of Yamaha’s new prototype machine and finishing the day with the 3rd fastest time in the process. Edwards once again spent the time working on general set-up with his team, especially chassis and suspension, as well as testing some new tyres for Michelin.

New Alstare Suzuki Corona Extra rider Max Biaggi set the fastest time at this week’s two-day World Superbike test at Valencia in Spain with a time of 1:33.9, as team mate Yukio Kagayama was close behind in third.
